Tuberculosis Control


All cases of active Tuberculosis (TB) are followed by Health Department nurses for direct observed therapy.  Patients are required to take their medication in the presence of a health care worker for the entire treatment time.  Tuberculin skin testing is available at no charge to adoptive or foster parents, and persons exposed to someone with active TB disease. Individuals who test positive for TB will receive a medical review to confirm the diagnosis and possible need for treatment.  For more information, call 410-638-3060, or click on
