We’re Accredited!


The Harford County Health Department(HCHD) received notification on March 4, 2015, that is has become an accredited health department by the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). Harford County is now one of four accredited health departments in the State. Harford County joins Frederick and Worcester counties that learned of their accreditation in December, along with Allegany County that also was included among the most recent list of those receiving accreditation. Only 67 public health departments have been accredited by PHAB out of 3,000 eligible state, loyal and territorial public health agencies throughout the county.

What does this mean?

By achieving accreditation, it means that the HCHD is dedicated to improving and protecting the health of the community. The HCHD is honored to be recognized for the commitment to quality and performance while delivering critical public health services to our community. You can be sure that the quality of care that the HCHD provides to their clients is the very essence of their existence and the HCHD is dedicated to protecting and promoting the health of the community they serve.
