- License all public swimming pools and spas.
- Conduct routine inspections of public swimming pools and spas.
- Issue pool operator certificates to all individuals who successfully complete an approved operators course.
- Respond to citizen complaints pertaining to public swimming pools and spas.
- Maintain a database of all public swimming pools and spas in Harford County.
- Maintain a database of Harford County certified pool operators.
