The Harford County Mental Health and Addictions Advisory Council (MHAAC) meets jointly with the Harford County Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) Behavioral Health Workgroup. The Overdose Prevention Team (OPT) meets separately from both groups, directly after the MHAAC/LHIC meeting.
Meetings are open to the public.
Frequency of Meetings
Meetings take place the last Tuesday of each odd month of the year, with the exception of June, July and August. Please email the secretary to be added to the invitation list (ronya.nassar@maryland.gov).

In the instance of inclement weather on a meeting date, please follow the Harford County Public School closing guidelines. If the schools are delayed or canceled due to inclement weather, the meeting will also be canceled.

Appointed Member Information for the MHAAC
The MHAAC consists of 9 Ex-Officio members from local government health and service agencies and 25 members, as regulated by code. All members are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council. Members serve three-year terms. A member who serves two consecutive three-year terms may not be reappointed for three years after completion of those terms. From among its members, the advisory council shall elect annually a Chairman and any other officers it finds necessary. A member may not serve as Chairman for more than two consecutive years.
The members of the advisory council shall serve without compensation. The advisory council shall meet at the times and places it determines. The County Health Officer shall provide staff services for the advisory council.
