Harford Soil Map

Uncategorized / February 11, 2011

Harford County Health Department may restrict percolation testing and soil analysis on a property.  A property containing “Wet Season” soils will need to be tested during the wet season (typically February 1 – April 30).  Percolation testing cannot be performed in soils with the classification “Do Not Test”.  See the map below to identify the soil(s) on an individual property and to inquire about the eligibility  of percolation testing for that property (Anytime, Wet Season, or Do Not Test).

Step 1:  Find the cell on the map containing the property in question.

Step 2: Left click on the number  in the cell containing the property.  Use the + sign on the tool bar to see more detail.

Step 3:  Use the legend in the upper left corner of the “Map” page to determine the time to test (Anytime, Wet Season or Do Not Test) each soil on the property.  The number on each property is the “Parcel” number.   To identify and research the property at the Harford County Health Department, use the “Map” number and the “Parcel” number to reference the property.  For properties with an identical “Map” number and “Parcel” number, the name of the subdivision and lot number will be needed to reference the property.
