A trusted, safe, non-judgmental physical place for at-risk pregnant, postpartum women and their families to meet in Harford County. Providing information and guidance, referrals and services, care coordination and support to Harford County families.
Our approach for building family resilience:
- Building trusted relationships
- Light-touch family support in everyday settings
- Connections to more intensive clinical services when needed
- Connections to and support from dedicated wraparound support services
- Navigation support to help make the connections
About the Program
Evidence-based practices, including home visiting with Healthy Families America (HFA) , peer-recovery support through Helping Families Recover (HFR), and wraparound community services through Care Coordination Plus combined forces to expand services to existing HCHD clients and to begin reaching new participants throughout the county. We have partnered with the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake’s Hold Them Close program, Brantwood Family Services, and local MCOs in order to expand services to participants. Partners offer safe sleep courses, car seat installation education, co-host community baby showers, and engage in reciprocal referral processes with MEGAN’s Place. As we move forward, additional community partners will bring valuable services to MEGAN’s Place families.
