Our Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) program is excited to support STI Awareness Month and all activities encouraging STI screening and awareness! Any patient we encounter is offered screening for STIs, and we recommend rescreening every three to six months. PrEP program participants are automatically provided STI testing every three to six months, as per Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. While PrEP prevents HIV, it does not prevent other STIs. Regular screening ensures that PrEP participants are able to stay healthy and reduce risk. During the month of April, and every month, please remember to get yourself tested! The Harford County Health Department offers STI testing on a walk-in basis, every Wednesday from 8am-11am at our Edgewood location (1321 Woodbridge Station Way, Edgewood, MD 21040). We take most insurances, including Medical Assistance and TRICARE, and offer a sliding scale for uninsured and under-insured patients. Call (410) 612-1779 for questions.
