COVID-19 / July 9, 2020

-Governor Larry Hogan released a press release today.

-The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) today announced the launch of MD Mind Health, a new text-based mental health initiative to fight isolation and encourage mental wellness. You can read about it here.

-The CDC has added new symptoms of COVID-19 including congestion/runny nose, nausea/vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience these new symptoms, call your doctor.

  • Other symptoms include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste and small, and sore throat.

-The CDC has expanded its list of those who are at an increased risk from severe illness from COVID-19

  • Regardless of your age, if you have heart disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obesity, immunocompromised state from organ transplant, sickle cell disease, asthma, cerebrovascular disease, cystic fibrosis, high blood pressure, dementia, liver disease, pregnancy, pulmonary fibrosis, smoking, thalassemia, and/ or type 1 diabetes you’re still at risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
