-On March 18th at night, Governor Hogan announced the state’s first death as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and today the state reported its first case of a child contracting the virus. To view the full press release, please click here.

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SPRING SEMESTER: Governor Hogan has asked the University System of Maryland Board of Regents to keep all students off campus and finish the spring semester online.

HOSPITAL SURGE PLAN: Governor Hogan announced that, as part of phase one of the hospital surge plan, 900 beds will be made available immediately. By early April, another 1,400 beds are expected to come online. The multi-phase plan calls for adding capacity of up to 6,000 beds.

Harford County Government announced today an update on Harford Transit LINK operations during the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic. Harford Transit LINK will follow the updated directive of the governor and suspend all fixed route bus services effective Friday, March 20 until further notice. Demand Response services will continue for existing pre-qualified clients for services including medical trips such as dialysis and chemotherapy, to hospitals, clinics and health facilities, and trips to pharmacies and grocery stores, until further notice. Please note, no new clients will be accepted for this service during this state of emergency. The Harford Transit Office, located in Abingdon, continues to be closed to the public. Harford Transit LINK is implementing these protocols for public safety that are aligned with recommendations from Governor Hogan, the Maryland Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.
