The health department employs two community health outreach workers, Felicia Hopkins and Faith Murray-Engh, to help improve minority health in Harford County!
They seek to reach our vulnerable population, provide resources and information to those who request it, and provide care coordination. In addition to that, the Minority Health Program has created a partnership with select Harford County leaders, churches, and dignitaries and they stay in touch on a monthly basis, keeping them abreast of updates regarding the progress made within the community. They have created multiple programs to address and speak to health inequalities and public health issues within the black and brown community.
Some programs that they have created so far:
- The Community Advisory Board (CAB)
- “Parent Talks” Community Conversations
- Monthly Programming Events
- Youth Symposiums
