The health department recently hired two community health outreach workers, Felicia Hopkins and Michelle Peterson, to help improve minority health in Harford County! Their first task was to reach our vulnerable population who were resistant to vaccination, provide resources and information to those who requested it, and assist in scheduling vaccination appointments. In addition to that, Felicia and Michelle have created a partnership with select Harford County leaders, churches, and dignitaries and they stay in touch on a monthly basis, keeping them abreast of updates regarding the progress made within the community. They have also created a program to address and speak to health inequalities and public health issues within the black and brown community.
