Nutrition Services

The Harford County Health Department provides nutrition services by a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN).  The dietitian conducts a nutrition assessment and provides knowledge and practical skills according to each client’s individual needs and preferences. The dietitian will listen to you and base all recommendations on your personal health history, current lifestyle, favorite foods, and eating and exercise habits, as well as answer any questions you may have. The RDN will help you set goals and give you tools and resources to help you achieve your health and wellness goals.

Proper nutrition is the key to maintaining health at all ages. Healthy eating leads to optimal growth and development in children, helps prevent high cholesterol and high blood pressure, and reduces the risk of developing chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes.  It’s never too late to improve your eating habits. Nutrition services are provided by appointment only and can be offered face to face or by tele-nutrition.

To schedule an appointment, please complete the referral form and email us at: hchd.nutritionservices@maryland.gov, or call 443-904-7609.
