2020 Anti-Vaping Poster Contest

The Chronic Disease Prevention and Wellness Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC) work group is excited to announce the guidelines for the 2020 Anti-Vaping/Electronic Smoking Device Counter-Marketing Poster Contest Guidelines.

ANTI-VAPING/ELECTRONIC SMOKING DEVICE COUNTER-MARKETING POSTER CONTEST GUIDELINES

  • Posters should contain a clear message about the dangers of vaping/electronic smoking device usage or about the marketing of these products to youth. Choose a message that you think will resonate with your peers. Please do not include violent images in your poster such as guns, knives, bombs, or weapons.
  • Student’s name should not appear on the front of the poster.
  • Posters may be hand drawn or digitally created.
  • Posters may not contain copyrighted images or characters from TV or cartoons.
  • Posters should reflect the students’ original messages—ideas copied from published posters will be disqualified.
  • Posters drawn by hand should be done on WHITE, 8.5”X11” PAPER. Please leave at least a ¼” margin around your image.
  • Landscape or portrait orientation is acceptable. Posters may be drawn with markers, pens, colored pencils or crayonsBe sure to press down hard so the colors stand out, but be mindful of smudging.
  • If you are including facts or statistics, we would like to make sure they are accurate. Please use credible sources, and list your source(s) on a label on the back of your poster, or include them with your digitally shared information.
  • Only one (1) entry per student may be submitted.
  • Have fun and enjoy!

To submit: Please take a picture of your drawing and email it to the address below. Digital posters may also be emailed to the same email address.

The email subject should say: “HC 2020 Vaping Contest” and the email should contain your name, grade, and the school you attend. *Please keep the hard copy of your poster, we will reach out to the winners and schedule a time to pick them up.

DEADLINE EXTENDED:  ALL POSTERS ARE DUE BY 9 PM ON FRIDAY APRIL 3rd BY 9:00PM 

1st place posters will be reproduced and distributed to high schools and middle schools in Harford County and posted on social media and online. 1st place posters will also get recognized by the Harford County Board of Health.
