Governor Larry Hogan held a press conference yesterday where he discussed the expansion of vaccine eligibility.
- Starting the week of January 18th, the State of Maryland will enter 1B, which will include those 75+ and teachers. Starting the week of January 25th, the State of Maryland will expand this to those between the ages of 65-74 and other essential groups.
- The governor also announced a pilot program with vaccine distribution with Giant and Walmart pharmacies.
- There is now a vaccination site locater and Governor Hogan plans to launch mass vaccination sites.
- Lastly, he discussed additional support and flexibility for local health departments.

Vaccination Update
**Please note all of this information is dependent upon the availability of the vaccine**
- 1B’s: We will begin vaccine clinics for the 1B’s on Tuesday, January 19th. For those of you who have pre-registered, a health department employee will be calling you within the upcoming weeks. There have been over 4,000 75+ residents who have pre-registered already, so please know that we are getting you scheduled and vaccinated as fast as we can. - 1C’s: This group will be able to pre-register beginning on January 25th. We will share the link when available. More information to come!
- Giant Foods and Walmart will begin vaccinating people beginning on the 25th of January. You can follow this link to see if there is a Giant or Walmart near you that is administering the vaccine.
